Today marks one year since my ordeal. I am grateful for every one who has showed me support in any form - financial, moral, spiritual. I look back to this day not in anger or frustration (although there is plenty to be frustrated about). Rather, I look back at it with the realisation that there is opportunity in every situation. I have always wanted to learn to code android applications. This "french leave" has allowed me to achieve this. Furthermore, I have had a number of speaking opportunities and engagement in the last 2 months. However, during my recovery I have struggled with talking about my situation. I gloss over the issue and I am quick to move on to the next topic as long as it is not about me. I know that I am not the only one that struggles with self-expression.
